The
Central Bank of Ireland was established in the year 1943. The bank was further restructured and renamed to Central Bank and Financial Services Authority of Ireland in the year 2003. It also became a member Economic and Monetary Union (EMU) in 1999.
Since the year 1999, the bank has been working as a member of the Euro System with the following activities:
Maintenance of Price Stability with Lower inflation
Rendering a better Payment System
Distribution of Euro Currencies
Management of Foreign Exchange Reserves
Acting as a banker to the Government
