Illinois Chamber of Commerce
The Illinois Chamber of Commerce was established on the 27th of May, 1919. A group of twenty four businessmen was instrumental in forming the Illinois Chamber of Commerce. The chamber also looks to negate too much government control of business in Illinois. The important legislative issues of the chamber are considered by the Illinois Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and draft statements of policy positions are provided to it by the Illinois Chamber of Commerce Business Issue Councils.
The members of Illinois Chamber of Commerce have funded the creation of the Chamber PAC in 1975. This is a business political action committee. The Chamber PAC works for the improvement of the government of Illinois and also promotes better connectivity between the government and the people.
The Illinois Chamber of Commerce has joined hands with the Illinois Civil Justice League and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce to organize a campaign on legal reform in the state of Illinois. The Illinois Civil Justice League works towards the creation of a fairer civil justice system in the state. The Illinois Chamber of Commerce is also one of the founding members of the Illinois Coalition for Jobs, Growth and Prosperity. The Infrastructure Council of Illinois Chamber of Commerce formed the Transportation for Illinois Coalition.
