The history of ACS group is marked by diversifications and large company mergers. ACS Group began operating from 1983 when a group of engineers acquired Construcciones Pedros, located in Badalona (Cataluna). Over the years, acquisition of OCISA, SEMI and Cobra took place. The first large company merger occurred in 1993 and OCP was created. OCP became one of the leading construction company groups in Spain.
ACS was formed in 1997, following the merger of OCP with Auxini and Gines Navarro. In 2002 and 2003, with integration of the Dragados group, ACS became the indisputable leader in the Spanish market. The ACS Group has established its basis for future strategy by focusing on relevant sectors of Spanish and European economies through strategic investments in Abertis, Ubis and Union Fenosa.
