In 1886, Charles Martin Hall discovered aluminum smelting process.
In 1888, Hall and financial backers started The Pittsburgh Reduction Company.
In 1907, The Pittsburgh Reduction Company became Aluminum Company of America.
The name Alcoa was coined in 1910.
