AutoNation, Inc. is America's largest Automotive Retailer. Automation's roots trace back to 1996, when current Chairman H. Wayne Huizenga invested in an Atlanta-based waste management company that later became Republic Industries, Inc.
Republic Industries changed its name on April 6, 1999 to "AutoNation, Inc." Thus, AutoNation was formed in 1999.

Today, the Company is the largest, pure-play automotive retail company in America.
