The history of BAE Systems dates back to manned flight and early wireless communications. British Aerospace (BAe) was formed in April 1977, as a nationalized corporation by the merger of British Aircraft Corporation, Hawker Siddeley Aviation, Hawker Siddeley Dynamics and Scottish Aviation. In November 1999, British Aerospace and Marconi Electronic Systems merged. The new company came to be known as BAE SYSTEMS. Today, BAE Systems is the largest European defence company and among the Top 10 US defence company. The company is involved in about 100 new inventions per year
