- In June, 2005, there was an acquisition of 10 hypermarkets from the Sonae Group in Sao Paolo, Brazil.
- May, 2005 saw the acquisition of 2 Turkish retail banners: Gima (81 supermarkets), and Endi (45 hard discount stores) in Turkey.
