History

Caterpillar Tractor Co. Ltd. was established in Great Britain in 1950. Caterpillar and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd. form one of the first joint ventures in Japan in 1963.
In 1986, The Caterpillar Tractor Co. changed its name to Caterpillar Inc. in order to reflect the enterprise's growing diversity more accurately.
The company decentralized its structure in 1990. The company continued to grow through acquisitions. Today, it is a global leader experiencing unchartered growth across all business ventures.
