History
Compañía Española de Petróleos, S.A. (CEPSA) was set up as the first private oil company in Spain in 1929. The company formed its first refinery in Spain in 1930 and the second in Gibraltar in 1969. They became the first Spanish producer of lubricants in 1950. In 1954, the company formed the first platforming unit in Spain and also became the first Spanish producer of aromatic petrochemical products. In the 1970s, Cepsa began collaborating with leading multinationals in the petrochemical industry. The 1980s saw Cepsa making a network of branches and subsidiary marketing companies in Spain and other European countries. Cepsa grew through acquisitions in the 1990s. In 2000, the company became a pioneer in marketing of Butane cylinders. Today, Cepsa is a leader in petroleum and petrochemistry related activities.Mission
