History

Conoco Inc. started operating in 1875 as the Continental Oil and Transportation Co. In 1917, Phillips Petroleum Company was founded. From their very beginnings Conoco Inc. and Phillips Petroleum Company grew and prospered.
They became leaders in the global energy industry. ConocoPhillips was created on August 30, 2002, when Conoco and Phillips combined together. Today, ConocoPhillips is one of the largest international, integrated energy companies. At present the company operates in more than 30 countries with 29,600 employees as recorded on March 31, 2011.
