History
The history of Eastman Kodak can be traced back to the late 19th century. On January 1, 1881 Eastman and Strong formed a partnership called the Eastman Dry Plate Company. In 1884, a new firm, the Eastman Dry Plate and Film Company, was formed out of the Eastman-Strong partnership. In 1889, after George Eastman invented the first simple camera, a successive concern, the Eastman Company, was formed. The Eastman Kodak Company of New York was organized in 1892 and the company has been called Eastman Kodak Company since then. The present firm, Eastman Kodak Company of New Jersey, was formed in 1901.

Over the years, Eastman Kodak Company have been pioneers in developing an abundance of new products and processes to make photography simpler, more useful, and more enjoyable. Today, Kodak is a worldwide name in photography and also known for images used in a variety of leisure, medical, business, entertainment, and scientific applications.
