Endesa was founded on November 18, 1944. The group grew in the early 1990s, when a series of acquisitions occurred. Endesa became a private company in 1998. Today, Endesa is one of the leaders in Spanish electricity industry and Latin America's topmost private-sector multinational electricity utility.
