FedEx was originally known as FDX Corp. FedEx Corp. was formed in January 1998 with the acquisition of Caliber System Inc. Over the years, Fedex assimilated its companies, grew its global brands, and became involved in a series of acquisitions. Today, FedEx Corporation is the premier provider of shipping and information services worldwide.
