Research & DevelopmentKEPCO’s global focus has led to efforts toward gaining strategic technological edge with next generation breakthroughs. In 2005 KEPCO completed the development of a highly efficient, low-cost and eco-friendly superconductor energy storage device. This was the superconductor flywheel energy storage device with the largest capacity in the world of 5 KWH. KEPCO’s ongoing research is aimed at the development of a 100 KWH device.Corporate Social ResponsibilityAs one of the leading companies in South Korea that has been closely associated with the spectacular growth of the country, KEPCO initiated its Social Contribution Teams in 2004. The aim of the Social Contribution Teams is to help needy neighbors among other activities and to that extent the group carried out an amazing 6400 volunteer activities with a total of 9,500 employees participating in 272 volunteer teams throughout South Korea. This was the largest volunteer initiative in the country. |
