In fiscal 2005, KEPCO's turnover was KRW 25.11 trillion, which was 6.4 % higher than in 2004. KEPCO was awarded a higher credit rating of A2 by Moody's as a result of its improved overall performance in fiscal 2005, and its customer satisfaction.Research and Development
KEPCO's global focus has led to efforts toward gaining a strategic technological edge. In 2005, KEPCO completed the development of a highly efficient, low-cost, storage device. This was the superconductor flywheel energy storage device with the largest capacity in the world of 5 KWH. KEPCO's ongoing research is focused on development of a 100 KWH device.Corporate Social Responsibility
KEPCO initiated its Social Contribution Teams in 2004. The goal of the Social Contribution Teams is to help needy neighbors, among other activities. The group carried out 6400 volunteer activities, with a total of 9,500 employees participating, in 272 volunteer teams throughout South Korea. This was the largest volunteer initiative in the country.Future
