Oil and Energy: Norsk Hydro's main area of operation in Petroleum is on the Norwegian continental shelf, but it is also functional in Russia, Canada, Libya, and Angola.
Norsk Hydro operates 13 oil fields and it produced 563,000 barrels of oil equivalents. By using the Brand name Hydro, Norsk Hydro is also operating gas stations in Sweden. In Norway and Denmark, it has a joint venture with Chevron and is operating under the brand name of HydroTexaco.

Norsk Hydro is also one of the big players in the field of wind and hydroelectric power.
