The OMV Group was established in 1956 in Austria. It has grown to become the biggest company in Austria. In 2004 after it acquired the Petrom, Romania’s biggest oil and gas company, OMV became Central Europe’s biggest oil and gas company. As a midsized oil and gas company OMV has set itself a goal to become the best integrated company in this industry segment.

The total value of the assets held by OMV in fiscal 2006 was 18.23 billion USD.
