Paccar Inc was founded in 1905 by William Pigott Sr. in Seattle, United States, to produce railway and logging equipment. In 1941 when the United States joined the World War II, Paccar built the famous Sherman Tanks and tank recovery vehicles. During the same time the company also built dry docks and steel tugboats that were extensively used in the conflict. In 1945 Paccar began manufacturing heavy duty trucks and over the last 60 years has grown and diversified to become a leading manufacturer of light, medium and heavy duty trucks that are sold all over the world.

Technology Paccar is a research driven technology focused company and has world-class facilities with state-of -the–art product testing and validation capabilities. Paccar’s Technical Center in the United States developed Diesel engine emission systems with highly effective technologies for engine cooling, electrical systems and exhaust aftertreatment. Paccar’s Technical Center in Europe was led to efforts toward the development and validation of the new DAF truck models with a complete range of fuel efficient Paccar engines. A new engine laboratory is coming up in Europe at Eindhoven. Organization Paccar is headed by Mr. M. C. Pigott who is the Chairman and CEO of the company.
