Experian Credit was incorporated in the year 1980 and at the time of its inception, it was known as Information Services Company.

The common stock of Experian Credit is traded on the London Stock Exchange (LSE) under the ticker symbol EXPN.

In the month of October 2006, there was a demerger of Experian Credit from GUS, which is its holding company. GUS plc is a reputed british retail and commercial services conglomerate. The company formed as the result of the demerger is known as Experian Group Limited and it forms a component of the FTSE Index. Currently, Experian Group Limited is functioning independently. Its business division, Experian North America functions in the form of a consumer credit reporting agency.

With its functional expertise, Experian Credit has transformed itself to a world leader in credit reporting services.

At present, the CEO (Chief Executive Officer) of Experian Group Limited is Don Robert and chairman of the company is John Peace.
