Debit card processing is the transactional aspect of debit card. It normally involves the various processes that come into play when a debit card is used in order to make transactions or to withdraw money from ATMs. These transactions can be done through online or offline means.
Online Debit Card Processing
In case of online debit card processing, after the buyer has completed buying the debit card holder swipes his card through a magnetic debit card-reader. After this the PIN number of that particular card is entered in the machine and the entire amount is transferred to the account of the shop owner. This is very convenient as the individuals are no more subjected to the risks related to carrying huge cash with them.
Offline Debit Card Processing
The offline debit card processing is a bit different. In this kind of debit card processing, once the debit cardholder has completed his or her purchases, the owner of the particular shop takes the card and swipes it through the card-reader. After this he provides the debit card holder with a receipt, which is signed by the card holder. The necessary amount for the transaction is transferred to the shop-owners account within a specific amount of time.
