Belarus Export

Belarusian economy is a developed economy. The foreign trade contributes hugely to the GDP growth of the Belarusian economy. Belarus Export forms a major part of the foreign trade, which earns a lump some revenue for the country. Belarus is the storehouse of minerals and it makes a significant exportable product.

The major exportable commodities of Belarus are, mineral products, metals, food items, machinery, and textiles. Belarus has more than 160 trading partners and export accounts for 50% of the GDP. Belarus enjoys a very good geographical position. It is a transit between Russia and the other countries of CIS. This has aided in developing good relations with the other countries with whom Belarus could trade.
Export Estimate of Belarus
The export of goods and services jointly accounted for 65.4% of the GDP in 2002. In 2002 major portion of the export goods consisted of equipment, machines and transport vehicles, mineral products and chemicals. 25.9% of the total export consisted of machinery. This was followed by mineral products that amounted to 21% of the total exports. Moreover, for the last two years Belarusian export of goods and services has increased by 9.5% and 18.5% respectively.

Privatization of land and properties is not practiced in the country. Hence, the state used to be the owner of 70% of basic funds. Without privatization the progress in all sectors is not possible. Hence, the country has a lot of potential to produce and export even more products.
Export Control in Belarus
The Republic of Belarus has taken a number of reformative measures to control the export system effectively. But unfortunately the measures did not prove to be as effective as they were initially thought to be. The law on export control though has been formulated is yet to be passed and implemented by the Parliament. The export control measure is based on legal terms and is expected to help the export system of Belarus in maintaining transparency. Belarus though is directly not involved in nuclear industries it produces materials that are in use in the nuclear industries. Belarus and Russia have always maintained a bilateral trade relationship. This also requires consolidation through the implementation of the export control act.
