Guatemala Currency

Guatemala currency is the unit of money and the medium of exchange for goods and services in Guatemala. The currency of Guatemala is Quetzal, which constitutes 100 centavos.
Guatemala money
The official currency of Guatemala is Quetzal, which is abbreviated as GTQ. Quetzal notes are available in denominations of Q100, 50, 20, 10 and 5 and coins are available in denominations of Q1, and 50, 25, 10, 5 and 1 centavos. US dollar is also used as one of the currencies in Guatemala.
Currency exchange
Currencies are normally exchanged at leading banks in Guatemala. Travelers are advised to exchange local currency before departure. Travelers are also advised to take traveler's check in US Dollars, if they want to avoid additional exchange rate charges.
