Bank of Slovenia

The Bank of Slovenia is the central bank of Slovenia founded on 25th June, 1991. The primary objectives of the Bank of Slovenia include maintaining stability of exchange rate . Other major functions of Bank of Slovenia include presenting report to the parliament at a regular interval.
Organization structure of Bank of Slovenia
The Governor and the Governing Board are responsible in taking decision for Bank of Slovenia. The Governing Board of the Bank of Slovenia constitutes eight members, who are the Governor, four Vice Governors and four members. The Governor is the chairperson of the Governing Board of the Bank of Slovenia. The Governor of the bank authorizes one of the Vice Governors as his deputy.

Economic and monetary union
During the period from 8th October, 1991 to 31st December, 2006, currency unit of the republic of Slovenia was tolar. After becoming a member of European Union, the currency of Slovenia changed to Euro (from 1st January, 2007) and until 14th January, 2007, there was a dual circulation period. Euro is divided into 100 cents.
