Uganda Currency

Uganda Currency is Uganda Shilling, which is the main medium of exchange for goods and services in Uganda. Uganda Shilling is abbreviated as UGX. The ISO code of Uganda currency is UGX 800.

The Ugandan Shilling (UGX) which is the official currency of Uganda is available in the forms of banknotes and coins. Uganda Shilling (UGX) banknotes are available in denominations of UGX10,000, 5000 and 1000 and Uganda coins are available in denominations of UGX500, 200, 100 and 50. Uganda Currency follows the Decimal System. Ugandan Shilling is divided into 100 cents.

Currency exchange

Foreign currency can be exchanged at the Central Bank of Uganda and also at the other commercial banks and foreign exchange bureaus of the country.
