Indian Institute of Management Calcutta is one of the premier business schools of India. It was founded in November 1961 by the Government of India in a combined effort with the Government of West Bengal, Indian industry, the Ford Foundation, and the Alfred P. Sloan School of Management (MIT).
The Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta is regarded as the earliest institute in India to offer Post Graduate education and research in the field of management. A number of eminent faculties taught in the IIM-C during its early years and they include Jagdish Sheth, Paul Samuelson, J.K. Sengupta, and many others.
Over the passage of time, IIM Calcutta has developed into a top management education school with worldwide reputation. It is famous for the impartation of management education of the highest quality.
