The
Institute of Management Development & Research (IMDR) is one of the most reputed business schools in India. It was incorporated in the year 1974 as a constitutional division of the Deccan Education Society, which was founded in 1884.
The founders of IMDR are the late Padmashree Dr. R.T. Doshi and late Shri. Sumatilal Shah. While imparting management education, IMDR focuses on maximum comprehension and productivity of the students.
The IMDR is the earliest management school of Pune. The MBA program of the University of Pune MBA Center and the DBM program offered by the BMCC (a sister organization) since1968 were taken over by the IMDR. The IMDR is an affiliate institution of the University of Pune and it is also known as a renowned research institute all over India.
The IMDR took the shape of an autonomous body by a voluntary dissociation from the University of Pune in the year 1977. After that time, it has been functioning as an independent institution free from any intervention of any university or other statutory institutions.
The full time courses offered by the IMDR can be categorized into the following types:
- Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource (PGDHR)
- Post Graduate Diploma in International Trade (PGDIT)
- The Two Year Full Time Post Graduate Diploma in Management - PGDM
