Turkey financial market is principally dependent on the Istanbul Stock Exchange, which is the sole stock or securities exchange of Turkey. The ISE was incorporated in the year 1986. The ISE deals with trading of stocks of different public companies in a fully automated environment.
The most significant feature of the Istanbul Stock Exchange is the number of foreign participants. The stock trading operations of ISE are carried out with the help of advanced technology in a transparent and customer-friendly manner. The number of foreign companies and foreign investors participating in the Turkey financial market is increasing day by day for this simple reason.

The ISE National 100 Index is utilized as the principal index for the Istanbul capital market. The shares and stocks of more than 300 companies are traded in the Istanbul Stock Exchange. The members of ISE include brokerage firms and corporate banking institutions (commercial banks and development banks). An executive council, which consists of five members appointed by the General Assembly of Turkey, regulates the Istanbul Stock Exchange. The ISE functions as a self-regulatory stock exchange.
