Ministry of Finance of Japan

The Ministry of Finance of Japan is one of the cabinet departments of the Japanese government. The Minister of Finance heads the Finance Ministry in Japan. At present, the Finance Minister of Japan is Fukushiro Nukaga.

Fukushiro Nukaga is a member of the Japanese cabinet and has been appointed by the Prime Minister of Japan. Previously, the Finance Ministry of Japan was known as Okura-sho. The principal objective of the Japanese Finance Ministry is to regulate and oversee the financial affairs and public finance in Japan. For a long a period of time, the Finance Ministry of Japan was considered to be the most powerful cabinet department of the government of Japan. However, over the passage of time, some of its responsibilities have been handed over to the Financial Services Agency in Japan and the Bank of Japan (after the Bank of Japan Law was passed in the year 1998.).

The Finance Ministry of Japan is well known for its forex or foreign exchange policies in the global financial market.
