The
Ministry of Finance Mexico is also known as the Secretariat of Finance and Public Credit. It is headed by the Secretary of Finance. The Secretariat of Finance and Public Credit is responsible for supervising the total financial affairs and the budgeting policies of Mexico.
The principal objective of the Ministry of Finance of Mexico is to bring and maintain steady economic growth in Mexico with the help of resource mobilization and efficient asset management. The Ministry of Finance Mexico also bears the responsibility of the management of public debt. The Secretariat of Finance and Public Credit performs this function with the help of one of its departments, which is known as the Public Credit Unit (PCU).
At present, the Secretary of Finance in Mexico is Agustin Carstens. The position of the Secretary of Finance in Mexico is similar to the finance ministers of other countries and the Secretary of the Treasury of the United States of America.
