Ent Federal Credit Union

Ent Federal Credit Union (EFCU) is a not-for-profit financial cooperative serving four central Colorado counties and Buckley Air Force Base with 27 locations.

Historic Background:
Started in 1957 to meet the needs of servicemen and civilians working on Ent and Peterson Air Force Bases in Colorado Springs, 30 people committed $602 to help provide lower-interest lending and personal service the corporate banks were unable to offer.

After more than five decades operating as a community-chartered organization, EFCU has grown from its home in the middle of Colorado to include branches in nearby cities like Pueblo and towns as far away Firestone. As the institution expanded, it has placed an emphasis on educating its members on the process to making sound financial decisions in the quest to achieve their dreams.

Organizational Structure:
As you will find with all credit unions, the institution is guided by a volunteer Board of Directors and secondary, appointed Supervisory Committee. The nine-member board is elected by accountholders to ensure the health of the organization – with the help of the Supervisory Committee and executives like the President and CEO – while continuing to serve each person’s financial needs as completely as possible. This has led EFCU to grow into the largest banking option in central Colorado, with more than 209,000 members and $3.3 billion in assets as of late 2011.
