The FedChoice Federal Credit Union was initially known as the IR Federal Credit Union. The IR Federal Credit Union was established to meet the financial requirements of the people serving at ATF, IRS and other federal organizations.

To mark the enhanced operational domain of the IR Federal Credit Union, a new name, FedChoice Federal Credit Union, was given to this financial organization on 5th September, 2006.
