Earlier A.M. Best assigned separate ratings to Lloyd's Syndicate 1007 and Lloyd's Syndicate 2007. But, later, it withdrew the ratings assigned to Lloyd's Syndicate 1007, as it was going to merge with Lloyd's Syndicate 2007.
Ratings of Lloyd's Syndicate reflect the overall financial strength of the company. A.M. Best Co., which is the most reputed insurance rating company of the world, has assigned different ratings to Lloyd's Syndicate.
It can be mentioned here, that, A.M. Best Co. is the oldest insurance rating company of the world. It was established long back in 1899.
A.M. Best Co. has assigned ratings separately to Lloyd's Syndicate 2007 and Lloyd's Syndicate 1007. Both Lloyd's Syndicate 2007 and Lloyd's Syndicate 1007 operate in United Kingdom and are managed by NSL(Novae Syndicates Limited). It should be mentioned here that, earlier Lloyd's Syndicate 2007 was known as Lloyd's Syndicate 2147.
The ratings that Lloyd's Syndicate 2007 received from A.M. Best Co. are the following:
Lloyd's Syndicate got A in its' Financial Strength Rating.
It got “a” from A.M. Best in its' Issuer Credit Rating.
Lloyd's Syndicate 1007, also got A in its' Financial Strength Rating and “a” in its' Issuer Credit Rating from A.M. Best Co.. But, later A.M. Best withdrew these ratings and assigned an NR-3, to Lloyd's Syndicate 1007. Implication of this NR-3 is Rating Procedure Inapplicable.
Actually, A.M. Best took the decision of withdrawing the earlier ratings from Lloyd's Syndicate 1007, after they came to know that, Lloyd's Syndicate 1007 was going to merge with Lloyd's Syndicate 2007(earlier Lloyd's Syndicate 2147).This merger decision was taken by Nova Group. It was also decided that, after the merger, the merged company would be known as Lloyd's Syndicate2007.
According to A.M. Best Co., this merger deal would increase the capacity of Lloyd's Syndicate 2007, as well strengthen the business profile of the company.
