Abstract: On fulfillment of certain eligibility criteria, the unemployed persons of Arkansas receive Unemployment Insurance Benefits. Even after filing an unemployment insurance claim, the eligible persons are required to abide by certain rules and regulations.

Arkansas Unemployment Insurance Benefits are offered to unemployed people, if they fulfill the eligibility requirements, fixed by Federal Law. In order to receive the insurance benefits, the eligible persons are required to file unemployment insurance claim with the Workforce Services Office of the State Department.

Eligibility Requirements for Unemployment Insurance Benefits in Arkansas

•  The applicant has to ensure that he is physically and mentally able to do a job, similar to the previous ones.

•  The applicant also has to ensure that he is available for any suitable work. No circumstance will prevent him from accepting suitable work.

•  The person has to prove that he has made reasonable efforts in order to find a job.

•  For getting unemployment insurance benefits, one has to prove that he never participated in any labor dispute.

After filing unemployment insurance claim, the applicant has to wait for a week for getting the insurance benefits. The Arkansas Unemployment Insurance Law requires that, this waiting period of one week should be a valid week of unemployment. Otherwise, the waiting period of one week will not be considered as valid waiting period.

Here, valid week of unemployment refers to the week, in which the applicant received no earnings or earnings of an amount, which is less than 140% of weekly insurance benefit.

Important Facts regarding Arkansas Unemployment Insurance Benefits

•  The amount of weekly unemployment insurance benefits depend on the level of wages, that the claimant had earned in the last 18 months.

•  The persons who have filed unemployment insurance claim are required to report every type of payment that they have received in the week, in which they have requested for insurance benefits. Here, by payments we suggest military drill pay, vacation pay and others. In case of, Self-Employment also, the applicant is required to notify the concerned authority.
