Abstract: In this paper we will discuss about the unemployment insurance programs run by the Department of Labor, Delaware. The insurance fund depends hugely upon the employers' contribution. The amount and as well as the duration of the compensation may differ from the other states of the United States of America, for those are calculated by the State government of Delaware by using its own set of parameter.

The Delaware Department of Labor unemployment insurance programs intend to provide some benefits, although temporarily, to those unemployed workers who have been fired without their own fault. The amount of this compensation in Delaware may vary from the other states since the State Government fixes it.

The claimants have to fulfill some eligibility criteria set by the Department of Labor, Delaware under the Federal Law. These eligibility criteria may also differ from the other states. However, funding for these insurance programs usually come from the taxes collected from the employers running their businesses in Delaware.

Normally, the amount of these unemployment benefits are calculated on the basis of individual income during the base period, that is, the time through which the compensation will be available. Presently, the range of the Delaware Department of Labor unemployment insurance benefit is lying between 20 to 330 dollars. However, Federal taxes are levied upon these benefits.

In Delaware, the first benefit check is credited after two or three weeks of filing the benefit claims. The compensations are available generally for 24 to 26 weeks, but the duration can be extended if necessary.

•  The claimant should be looking for some job opportunities vigorously.

•  The applicant must be available for a job.

•  The claimants have to file his or her claims at the Delaware Department of Labor.
