Kentz Group was set up in the year 1919. The company has a wide spectrum of spheres to deal with. Lately, the company had released its IPO. The Kentz Group is involved in activities related to electrical, construction, instrumentation process, power, mechanical, infrastructural, commercial, water, environment and communications sectors. They are engineering contractors. Set up in Ireland, in the year 1919, the company operates in different countries. Records indicate that about 370 million were earned as revenues in the year 2006. The pretax profit recorded during the same period was 25 million.

In February, 2008 Kentz IPO hit the markets. The shares traded on AIM (Alternative Investment Market) of the London Stock Exchange. As many as 116.37 million shares were floated through the Kentz IPO. Owing to this, the value of the company was £133.8 million.

The shares, which were offered through the IPO comprised of placing prevailing shares as well as new shares in the United Kingdom and investors in the other parts of Europe. The main category of investors in the Kentz IPO consisted of institutional investors.

The company of contractor engineers were successful in raising £66.7 million prior to the placing. Of this approximately, £18.8 million was company raised. The rest of it was for the shareholders. Company officials stated that the main aim of being a company, which is publicly traded is that there will be ample of opportunities for improving their rankings in the sector of engineering and construction. 115 pounds was the "placing price" per share.
