Osnaburg Township Merger
Proposal of Osnaburg township merger with that of the Canton. It was proposed that approximately 854 acres of land would be annexed from the Osnaburg township. The 854 acres would include The Quarry Golf Course as well as Stark Ceramics. Earlier it was decided that the annexation would be only of 472 acres of land but it was found that with this limited annexation, several important areas would be excluded.
The management looking into the East Canton Osnaburg Township merger set up a committee known by the same name (East Canton Osnaburg Township Merger Committee). The committee dealt with various problems pertaining to the merger. As per reports, the Osnaburg township merger get effected in 2008, when it would be taken up as an issue prior to the elections.
There were many people who opposed the Osnaburg township merger. Residents of Osnaburg shunned the idea of annexation and intruding in to their areas.
