The large sized notes in the USA were issued before 1928 that measured 7.42 inches by 3.125 inches while the small sized notes that were introduced at that very year measured 6.14 inches by 2.61 inches. The USA ceased the printing of notes above $100 denomination in the year 1946 and the circulation of it was officially withdrawn in 1969 following the use of these banknotes by the inter-bank transactions or by organized crime.

The system of representative money gave birth of the paper money concept in the USA. The banks when started to issue paper receipt to their depositors promising that the receipt was redeemable for that much amount of precious goods stored, the receipt itself started being treated as money itself. The example of representative paper money exists in the USA back in 1896 when the 5 dollar note was worth of silver of that amount.
The most frequently used banknotes or paper money in the United States of America are - one dollar, five dollar, ten dollar and twenty dollar while the rarely used paper notes in the USA are two dollar, fifty dollar and hundred dollar. It is seen in the USA, that the nickname of the banknotes are same as that of the value printed on that. Now according to the order given by the US District Judge James Robertson in November 28, 2006, the banknotes in the USA should be made easily handled by the blinds and visually impaired people.
