- HSBC provides 2, 3, 5 and 10 year standard fixed rates which are fee free including a 2 Year Fixed Rate Mortgage Special.
- The monthly repayment remains unaltered during the fixed rate period, irrespective of changes to the base rate.
- Fixed monthly payments allow budgeting for the duration of the fixed rate period.
- The interest is charged on a daily basis which has been found to be the fairest method.
- The customer will automatically transfer to the HSBC variable rate at the end of the fixed rate period. They also have the option to choose another fixed, discount or tracker rate.
- During the fixed rate period the borrower can increase their standard monthly payment by up to 20% without incurring an early repayment charge.
Discount Rate
- HSBC provides 2 year discount Mortgage Special Rate
- HSBC provides discount on its variable rate which will be applicable for a specific period at the start of the mortgage
- During the term of the discount rate the monthly payments would be lower
- The interest is charged on a daily basis which has been found to be the fairest method
- The customer will automatically transfer to the HSBC variable rate at the end of the discount rate period. They also have the option to choose another fixed, discount or tracker rate
