General Electric has signed the contract for the supply of 3 Frame 6B gas turbines which will generate about 120mw of power to Qatargas -2, Qatar-3 and Qatargas-4 trains in Ras Laffan.
The company will deliver the 3 turbines in the next 8 months and will be operational towards the end of the year.
chiyoda and Technip have formed a joint venture to execute the contract valued at four billion dollars for the engineering, procurement and construction for two liquefied natural gas (LNG) trains for the gas projects Qatargas-3 and Qatargas-4 integrated projects.
Qatargas-3 is jointly owned by QP (68.5 percent), ConocoPhilips (30 percent) and Mitsui (1.5 percent) and comprises upstream production facilities to produce approximately 1.4 billion cfd of gas and about 70,000 barrels of LPG and condensate a day. It will also have a 7.8 million t/y of LNG train. The output is destined for the US market.
Qatar-4 comprises the same upstream production facilities as Qatargas-4 and has approximately the same capacity. The project will be implemented through a joint venture between QP (70 percent) and Shell (30 percent). The majority of LNG to be produced will be sold to North American markets. (ANI)
