US stock symbol represents the companies listed on different stock indexes and exchanges of the country. There are a number of stock exchanges in the country like New York Stock Exchange, Philadelphia Stock Exchange and many more.
All these stock exchanges are used by a number of companies and corporations to generate funds for their respective companies through selling stocks. All these stocks are known according to their stock symbol.The US stock symbol is created with the help of several letters. Sometimes when two stocks share same kind of characteristics, then numbers are used with the letters to differentiate one from the other.
