More on Banking, Corporate Finance and Intermediation
Financial Intermediation is at present a hot research topic allover the world. It is highly relevant for policy formulation. Europe has seen a considerable integration of financial markets. This has raised several concerns. The banks are apprehensive of facing stiff competition. The need of the hour hence is proper regulatory structures meant for the banking sector as well as for the financial intermediaries and a host of other factors. Issues like the selection of the proper financial system and relevant reform package are important here.

The banking sector is facing increased competition in recent years. According to a study by Anjan Thakor of Indiana University, this phenomenon has made borrowers worse off. They are at the receiving end. Riskier loans seem to have become more attractive.

Similar nuances are aplenty in the modern financial markets. The IT revolution has added more texture to the functioning of this market through instant access of relevant information by all.
