About Partial Credit Guarantee Schemes-Experiences and Lessons
The Partial Credit Guarantee Schemes-Experiences and Lessons is going to be held in Washington DC in the United States from 13th March to 14th March, 2008. This will be organized in the form of a joint conference by the Journal of Financial Stability, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and the World Bank.

Credit guarantee schemes allocate credit risks and they also have the capability to enhance the accessibility to finance and stimulate growth in the private sector. Nevertheless, as a diversity of distinct forms of credit guarantee schemes prevail across a large number of developed and developing countries worldwide, numerous questions remain without any answer.
Objective of the Partial Credit Guarantee Schemes-Experiences and Lessons
The objective of the Partial Credit Guarantee Schemes-Experiences and Lessons conference is to promote both theoretical and experimental research papers evaluating the following factors:
  • The principle behind credit guarantee schemes and the debates for public interference
  • Organizational forms and pricing
  • Risk management
  • Functioning of prevailing credit guarantee schemes
  • Influence of credit guarantee schemes on banks, borrowers and the economy as a whole
Research papers on a particular country, cross-country studies, theoretical studies and experimental studies, all will be welcomed for the conference. Preliminary versions of research papers will also be accepted if they are anticipated to be complete earlier than the conference date.
Participation
Interest participants may send an email to the e-mail address of Erik Feijen of the World Bank. The deadline for submitting the completed research papers is 15th October 2007.
